Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your trip.
- Do I need fishing experience?
- Nope! Our trips are beginner-friendly. We'll teach you everything from rigging to reeling. Many of our guests have never held a fishing rod before.
- What ages can participate?
- All ages are welcome. Kids love it — there's nothing like watching a 10-year-old battle a shark. We'll adjust the experience to fit your group.
- Is it safe?
- Yes. We've done hundreds of trips without incident. Our guides are experienced, we use proper handling techniques, and the sharks stay in the water during photos.
- Do you keep the sharks?
- No — every shark is released healthy. We practice strict catch-and-release. You'll get photos and the memory, and the shark swims away for the next angler.
- What if we don't catch anything?
- Fishing is fishing — there are no guarantees. But our catch rate is strong, and even on slow days the experience on the beach is worth it. We don't offer refunds for slow fishing.
- What's the best time of year?
- Shark fishing is solid year-round in Florida, but spring and fall are typically the best seasons for consistent action.
- How far in advance should I book?
- We prefer bookings 1-2 days in advance so we can lock in the best location and conditions for your trip.
- What happens if the weather is bad?
- Safety comes first. If conditions are dangerous, we'll reschedule your trip. Light rain usually doesn't stop us — sharks don't mind getting wet.
- Can we bring food and drinks?
- Absolutely — bring snacks, water, and non-alcoholic drinks. We keep trips family-friendly, so no alcohol please.
- Where do the trips take place?
- We fish beaches along Florida's Gulf Coast — St. Pete Beach, Pass-a-Grille, Madeira Beach, and surrounding areas. Exact location depends on conditions.
